BulletTrain Udon – Shoreline, WA
When I find myself adventuring down old Highway 99, sometimes I pop into the Central Market to peruse their lovely cheese cases 🧀, watch the creation of fresh tortillas, or to pick-up a toasted sesame seeds daifuku to snack on as I venture about the greater Seattle area. And that’s what I was doing a few nights back ~ when I found Godzilla.
You read that right ~ Godzilla! King of the kaiju monsters. The walking destruction. And part-time unexpected defender of humanity. 💚🌊
While I am by no means a Gojira expert, it’s a deeply nuanced fandom, I am a casual fan. So both delighted and curious, I had to investigate.
A nearby flier put all the pieces together, everyone’s favorite prehistoric sea monster had brought a new Udon option to the shore of Shoreline, WA and he was doing so with Godzilla Fire flare!
Previously home to a coffee shop, the silo attached to the Shoreline Central Market is now the location of BulletTrain Udon 🚄🍜 . A new soup shop that sells udon options for just about everyone. Foodies can choose from shrimp, chicken, beef, veggie, and tofu. There is also a vegan option. And that’s not all, in honor of Godzilla’s atomic heat beam, for an extra $1.00 spice lovers get Godzilla Fire Hot Chili spices to add to their udon 🌶🔥 .

I immediately texted my foodie bestie and we returned the next day to get monster lunches. Although there were outdoor seating options, I selected the prawn udon to-go. And as a mid-level spicy food fan I had to see what the Godzilla Fire was all about.

When I arrived at home with my order, I was happy to see the crisp fried shrimp had been packaged separately from the udon noodles which were floating amid green onions & seaweed in a rich broth. It should be noted that while the soup may fuel Japanese monsters, it would be unwelcome among the Twilight vampires of Forks, WA as there is a very strong garlic presence. Not currently a vampire, I added the two prawns to the soup, dipped in my chopsticks, & throughly enjoyed the first flavorful slurp. And then the second…
And that might have been enough but in my hand was a small container of red seasoning waiting to level up the whole experience ~ Yes, the fore mentioned Godzilla Fire.
I had been warned by the shop owner that this spice was indeed, “quite spicy”, so I attempted to be reasonable and initially sprinkled only half of spice into my udon. The result was a warming flavor boosting heat which was good enough that before long I had decided to go full Godzilla Fire by pouring all the spices in.
As we say on many Amara In Seattle adventures, “Life is for living” and this was getting exciting!
Now, with the full Godzilla Fire container in play, the whole game had changed.
Did I wonder for a second if I had made a mistake? Yes.
Was I sweating a bit? Yes.
Had my 👅 gone numb. Also yes.
Was it worth it? Yes. Yes. Yes.
This Godzilla Fire fueled udon had quickly put in me at ‘perfect amount of heat’ station. And Nomming Rockstars, it was delicious!
Needless to say, much like Godzilla, I shall return.
Tl;Dr ~ The prawn udon was lovely & if you like spicy food the Godzilla Fire is a super fun add-on.
Location? You can catch the 🔥🚄 at: 15505 Westminster Way N. Shoreline, WA 98133 at the Silo attached to the Central Market. It’s a pretty quick drive out of Seattle.
Remix: Not into seafood? The bestie got the chicken udon & enjoyed it so much they paused a video to congratulate me on the find.
Amara Pro-Tip: There is a grocery store right beside BulletTrain Udon so maybe you can use it as a grocery shopping reward?! 🤔
